The President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, has recently awarded the most successful exporters of the country, Lithuanian Development Agency reports.

Nematekas, a meat processing company, was announced the Lithuanian exporter of the year. The President also awarded the biggest and the most modern Lithuanian company producing upholstery fabrics in the Baltic countries, UAB Audėjas, the manufacturer of fertilizers AB Lifosa, UAB Trivilita, which produces mattresses, latex beds etc., the manufacturer of high-quality clothing and underwear AB Utenos Trikotažas, the shipbuilder AB Vakarų Laivų Gamykla as well as the magazine in English Made in Lithuania.

The manufacturer of fertilizers AB Lifosa exported almost 90 % of its production during the first 9 months of the present year. UAB Trivilita exported 158 %  more production during the first 3 quarterds of 2006 compared to the ssame perios in 2005. This year, AB Utenos Trikotažas, operating already for 40 years, has entered new markets – France, England and Spain, and sold its production to the new foreigh customers for almost EUR 2 million. Exports of AB Vakarų Laivų Gamykla grew 163 % during the first 9 months of 2006 against the same period last year, Advantage Lithuania has reported.
